You are invited to Discover Dance, a free, all-ages, lunch hour series, where you will be introduced to some of Toronto’s incredible dance artists. Hosted by the award-winning choreographer Nova Bhattacharya, Discover Dance is an hour packed with dance and conversation. The artist, Ashley Perez (aka Colours), is power in motion. From funk styles to hip-hop, voguing, waacking and jazz, her mastery of dance will leave you breathless. 

Stay afterwards with PAONE for an open discussion on Community Engagement in the Arts. You will hear from TO Live’s Education & Engagement team and participate in a conversation exploring the challenges, successes, and strategies of community engagement initiatives.

11:30am-12:00pm: Doors (Arrive to Sony Centre main entrance)
12:00pm-1:00pm:  Discover Dance with Ashley Perez also known as Colours (Sony Centre Lower Lobby)

This is the main entrance of Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. It is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Front Street and Yonge Street. A door attendant will greet you in the main lobby and direct you to the lower lobby. There are 26 steps or 1 elevator down to the lower lobby.

This is a previous Discover Dance demonstration in the Sony Centre Lower Lobby. Sometimes the audience is invited to participate. This may include participation such as closing your eyes, trying out hand motions, or standing up and learning to dance. All participation is optional. The hour includes demonstrations of dance and conversation with the artist. Comments and questions from the audience are very welcome!
